My List

My List

This was written back in September. I have since completed my first 10k trail race that I will post about soon inshallah.

Last October, I mentioned I celebrated a milestone birthday. I’ve realized that what age is just a number, it doesn’t dictate who we are or what we’ve become. There is always room for change and improvement! So, I decided to write a list. A list of things I wanted to accomplish, things I wanted to become, little things, big things. Not a to do list, a list of goals and achievements. I have achieved many of those things. I haven’t even completed my list but I think that’s ok. I add things when I think of them.  It doesn’t need to s specific number of things. I don’t need a set date to complete it. It’s a list of goals and dreams. A list to help me grow, and be more whatever it is I want to be. It’s an everything list. Something to help me find myself again.

I open it from time to time, to remind myself of what I want to do, to add to it, to check things off of it. (My favorite part!)

I completed my first 10k back in February, finally started renovating the second floor. I’ve taken the leap and included my kitchen, which I had a love/hate relationship with. I had 2 piercings last September, now I have 7! Yes, that was on the list, though I never intended on getting so many, but that’s how it happened and I love them all. They aren’t too bold, more; subtle and elegant, I think.

Completing Tuwaiq Trail Race (An ultra-marathon (50k), half marathon, 10k Trail Race on Tuwaiq mountain is on my list. I was almost ready to take it off my list when my personal trainer (and friend) said she’d join me. I am so excited! A little scared, too. I am afraid of heights but I’ve been overcoming my fear through the years and I know we can do this. We’ve already started planning! We will be doing the 10k inshallah.

I want to start a small garden on my balcony, furnish my balcony before the weather is cool enough to sit outside. (hopefully soon, I am so done with this heat!)

I have some gym related goals that I’ve spoken to my personal trainer about and we are working on together.

When my kitchen is ready I have some small cooking/ baking goals.

I’ve made small goals, like drinking 3 liters of water a day, brushing my teeth twice a day, and reading at least 30 minutes. I am behind n my 12 books this year goal. Although I’m slowly catching up after discovering the joy of rereading childhood favorites.

I think the list is more like a plan, how I want to become more me and who this me is. I’m not 100% sure who that is but I plan on enjoying the journey as I discover her.
