This recipe is my adaptation from a recipe that was well know here in Saudi Arabia. I honestly don’t remember who’s recipe it was. It’s called the Golden Dough. I’ve made my personal changes so its not exactly the same.
Ingredients:
1 kilo of flour (8 cups)
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1 table spoon of salt
340 grams of yoghurt
1/2 cup of oil (I used olive oil)
1 cup of water + 4 tablespoons of powdered milk or 1 cup of liquid milk
1 tablespoon of yeast + 3 tablespoons of sugar+ 1/2 cup of warm water)
1 cup of warm water (you may not need it all)
Directions:
Pour the flour, baking powder an d salt in your mixing bowl. Mix slightly.
Add the yoghurt and mix until combined.
Add the oil and continue to mix.
Add th yeast mixture and mix until combine.
Gradually add the warm water until the dough is only a little sticky.
Oil bowl and add dough, cover and let rise.
I’m going to be honest. I don’t have an amazing tomato sauce recipe at the moment. So Im only sharing the dough’s recipe.
Preheat Oven 200 degrees celcius.
I like to divide the dough into quarters, roll each quarter and ad to my baking tray. I poke holes in it with a fork, bake it in a preheated oven for 5 minutes. Then add my face, cheese and toppings. I bake it for an a additional 10 minutes until the bottom is golden.
